Foot is a music project using lines by the Leiden poet Antoon Pollman, live music and tap dancing by Peter Kuit. Kuit, who has been called 'The Master' by American tap dancers, is internationally in great demand, famous for his new tap techniques, stamina and powerful charisma.
The floor and the his shoes are a tap dancer’s instruments. The floor consist of various type of wood what results in different sounds. Kuit uses a number of techniques that are not directly related to tap dance shows, but rather remind one of rhythmic body language.
Everything relates directly to Antoon Pollman’s lines. Pollman suffers from schizophrenia and autism. He has lived in institutions for the greater part of his life. Notwithstanding, by means of his poetry he brings his life into focus.
